I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to hand an ARC to Chelsea Snyder Eriksen recently. She’s the brains behind HippyMom, Mojo Writing, and Melia Lore on the web. She doesn’t review books on a regular basis, but from time to time she will post a review and was kind enough to say the following about about Crush at Thomas Hall.
Book Review: Crush at Thomas Hall
When Beth Sorensen asked me to review her book, I was thrilled. I had heard a lot about the process she had been living as she wrote, edited, re-wrote, edited again and finally went through the process of publishing her debut novel, and it was to my absolute thrill that she asked me to review a copy prior to its release. I won’t lie, I felt special.
Crush at Thomas Hall is the story of Cassandra, a woman with a love for travel (or is that running?) who unexpectedly ends up at a family-owned winery in Northern Virginia. She meets a familiar stranger at the winery, and they fall in love amidst a murder mystery involving the family. The story details their romance, along with realistic issues of Cassandra’s past abuse and her reluctance to establish ties to people or places. It was an engaging, memorable story that definitely left me wanting more, fairy tale with shades of brutal reality… just a great read, and I highly recommend you pick up a copy.
To Beth, thank you for giving me this opportunity. I have no doubt that your success has only just begun, and I truly look forward to reading more of your work. Best of luck to you!
