No, I didn’t drop off the face of the earth.
It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here, but something happened on the way to 2012. My life overtook my writing. Both of my girls performed in Delaware Dance Company’s production of the Nutcracker, and Thanksgiving & Christmas lent itself to many good times with friends and family. (Somehow six months came and went between seeing my Uncle Fred. Thanks for driving up Riceman!)
As if that wasn’t enough, I also helped my son prepare for a study abroad trip in Costa Rica. He’s there now, saving turtles and taking pictures of birds, but the prep time for the trip was more than I expected.
Now that the holiday decorations are coming down and the New Year has been rung in with Champagne and laughter, I am out of excuses. It is time to get back on the writing track. So, I’m starting small. Updating this blog and writing my monthly article for Sweet Tea Magazine. (Which if you haven’t checked it out, Sweet Tea, The Magazine The Refreshes, is a wonderful publication.) After that, it’s decision time.
I have laid out the foundation for two novels. The first is the next book in the Thomas Hall series. The second is a completely new project. A murder mystery involving a small, bayside town, a bar, and a lot of dead bodies. Now I just have to decide which one to write now and which to leave for later. Feel free to leave your opinion on the subject in the comments if you’d like.
And as always, one of my New Year’s resolutions is to blog more. I still haven’t figured out how some people do this daily. They are truly writing rock stars. I figure I’ll just do the best I can and hope I get better at blogging as I go. So until my next blog, Happy New Year and may 2012 be your best year ever!
I’m the opposite of you. I can blog almost daily, but having a hard time focusing on my book. But it’s my goal this year, so I’ll get there. Found you through Momastery’s article on Unwinding.
Welcome back! Baby steps are great for getting back into anything! :D
Thanks for the encouragement ladies! Andrea, I just discovered Momastery last night. It is such a great site!
